‘They don’t need to drive themselves….they can afford drivers’: Kapil Dev suggests following Rishabh Pant’s car accident

Former India World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev says players should hire drivers instead of driving themselves in the aftermath of Rishab Punt’s car accident.

“We should try to avoid leading to accidents like this,” he told ABP News. “Especially for these special players. I remember early in baseball when he had an accident riding a motorcycle and his brother wouldn’t let him ride a motorcycle.”

The 63-year-old added, “Players should be vigilant. They don’t have to drive themselves. They can afford a driver. I know a lot of people are passionate about driving. But when you have so many responsibilities, you have to take care of yourself.”

Punt’s plan to surprise her mother before the New Year turned into a horrific accident early Friday morning on the highway between Delhi and Dehradun after her car crashed into a road barrier.

The cricketer was taken to the emergency department of Saksham Hospital near Roorkee, where it was found that the 25-year-old boy had no broken bones but had torn ligaments in his knee, requiring further investigation. .

Punt did not participate in the whiteball series against Sri Lanka, which starts on 3 January. He was due to join the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for a strength and conditioning program ahead of his Gavasker trophy in February.
