Now it is clear who will be cast as Ronja Røverdatter in the upcoming Viaplay version, which is based on the classic novel by Astrid Lindgren.

After nearly 4,000 auditions all over Sweden, the choice has now been made: It is 14-year-old Kerstin Linden from Stockholm who will play the robber’s daughter in the TV series.

– It is so incredibly cool to be able to do my interpretation of Ronja Røverdatter. Even though the book and film about Ronja came out long before I was born, I have both read and seen him many times. I really love this story, says the young shoe player via the press release.

Praise for “The Immigrants”

We currently see Kerstin Linden in the role of Lill-Märta in Erik Poppe’s “Utvandrerne”. And she has, among other things, hit a nerve with the NRK film police. They say, among other things: “Of the children, Kerstin Linden must be singled out, because her good performance as Lill-Märta gives a sad picture of how vulnerable migrant children can be”.

The recording of Viaplay’s Ronja series has just started, and it is also clear that Jack Bergenholtz Henriksson has landed the role of the friend, Birk Borkason.

– It feels incredibly great to be part of a super-famous story. I’m really looking forward to playing Birk, he says.

Christopher Wagelin has been cast as Mattis, Krista Kosonen plays Lovis, Sverrir Gudnason will be seen as Borka – while Maria Nohra takes on the role of Undis.

Premiere in 2023

Astrid Lindgren’s story about the young robbers was first published in 1980, and the book has so far sold eleven million copies worldwide. In 1984, the book was adapted into a film format, directed by Tage Danielsson.

Ronja Røverdatter (Hanna Zetterberg) moves out of Mattisborga in protest, but receives Lovis bread from her mother Lovis (Lena Nyman).

The TV series about Ronja Røverdatter will consist of twelve episodes divided into two seasons. The script was written by “Broen” creator Hans Rosenfeldt, and the first season will be directed by “A Royal Affair” director Lisa James Larsson.

Earlier it was reported that the aim was to premiere on Viaplay in 2023.
