Affected stores are recalling over 200,000 child weighted blankets sold by retailers between December 2018 and September 2022.

Pillowfort branded blankets are a choking hazard if a child unzips and gets trapped inside.

In April 2022, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, two girls, ages 4 and 6, were reported dead after being trapped in blanket covers. Target has her four reports of children trapped in these weighted blankets, including two fatalities.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Target are urging consumers to stop using any recalled blankets immediately and return them to the store for a refund.

The Pillow Fort Weighted Blanket weighs 6 pounds, is 60 inches long and 40 inches wide. It has a removable and washable cover. Blankets are available in 8 different prints or colors: Unicorn White, Space Navy, Pink, Blue, Grey, Buffalo Plaid Red, Blue Constellation, and Unicorn Pink.

Consumers who have these blankets at home should contact Target at 800-440-0680 to receive a prepaid return label to return them by mail. Or you can return it to a Target store.
