Solihull Food & Drink Festival 2022: line-up, celeb chefs & more

There’s so much going on at Solihull town center this weekend, including celebrity chefs performing live demos

Solihull’s food and drink festival is returning with three packed days of amazing food, events and entertainment, and this family event is going to be free.

From Friday, 23 September to Sunday, 25 September, Solihull’s Food & Drink Festival will take over the town centre. Festival-goers will be spoiled for choice with more than 80 traders selling offering food and drink options in Mell Square, Mill Lane and Solihull High Street.

And, there’s so much going on including celebrity chefs performing live demos.

What’s on?

A star-studded line-up of celebrity chefs will headline the highly anticipated food festival. It features Aldo Zilli, Jamaica-born Bfavourite Rustie Lee, ‘Yummy Brummie’ Glynn Purnell and MasterChef 2022 runner-up, Pookie Tredell and features the live music Rum & Reggae zone in Mell Square. It will include top tribute act Rats In The Kitchen alongside brilliant reggae and ska musicians across the three days.

All chef demonstrations and live music performances are free to watch with seating available on a first come, first served basis.

Chef Aldo Zilli, part of the team behind the new Touchwood opening Emporio Artari, said: “Food & Drink Festivals are amazing. I love them as it brings the best out of us chefs interacting with our customers.

“Solihull is a great area and I am really looking forward to be taking part in the Food Festival. See you all there for some Italian delicacies with Lucarelli Restaurants!”

You can also get free nibbles and drink tasters at the Taster Tent with the sought-after Restaurant Voucher Booklet providing amazing offers for your return visit.

Kids zone

There are a bunch of activities for children at the party. Kids bungees, a merry-go-round and a giant 50ft ferris wheel will keep them entertained plus there are roaming dinosaurs (including the 12ft giant T-Rex, Zeus!). Other attractions include Hugging Hedge, Flower People, Juggling Chef, Bubbleologist, Gastronaut and free face painters.

Economic boost for the town centre

The Solihull BID hopes the food festival would provide a boost to the town center businesses with thousands of people visiting the area over the three days.

Melanie Palmer, Chief Executive of Solihull BID, said: “Against a challenging economic backdrop, Solihull once again joins as a community to showcase what has now become one of the finest food festivals in the UK.

“This is the one event you must not miss. Food, music, fun and laughter in the wonderful, safe oasis that is Solihull.”

5.30-7.15pm – Global Reggae

7.45-9.30pm – Reggae Matic

10am – 11am – Wellness session – brew twenty three

1.15-3PM – Iroots Solo Act
