Greenville, North Carolina – The East Carolina women’s basketball team will continue playing the AAC as they face the Memphis Tigers at Elma Roan Fieldhouse on Tuesday. The game kicks off at 8pm ET and will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Pirates lost the opening game of the last conference. Amiya Joyner Starring with 16 points and 16 rebounds, he cut a 17-point deficit to just four in three minutes played as the team put up a tremendous comeback effort in the second half. However, ECU ran out of power and Temira Poindexter finished in the Golden Hurricane where he finished with 20 points and a final margin of 8 points.
Memphis started the season with an 8-6 record. This includes his losses to then No. 1 South Carolina and his 6/5 Indiana. The Tigers went on a three-game winning streak before dropping the conference opener 80-69 at Temple. The team shot the ball well as a group, and in 82 makes for the year he averaged 74.3 points per game, averaging 74.3 points per game from 3 innings he achieved over 35%.
Jamila Shute and Madison Griggs lead Memphis with 15.0 and 13.1 points per game respectively. Shoot is also 2nd on the team with 31 assists. Hannah Riddick he leads the team with 5.7 rebounds and Jadalite has 4.7 boards per game and he has 17 blocks left.
ECU holds a narrow margin in an all-time 19-17 series dating back to 2002, thanks to a six-game winning streak that began in February 2019. Kim McNeil are 5-0 against the Tigers, and their most recent win was 68-38 in Greenville last season. Tanya Thompson said he dropped 26 in the game, senior johnson Recorded 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
