With pies donated to Shamrock by local businesses and individuals, the social club was opened to the public for a festive raffle. Attendees were given the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets in the hope that their number would be called, and were able to choose from nearly 100 available pies. In between, Michael Rafalth and Jeffrey Sherban sang live, and longtime raffle organizer Brian Ruffin drew the winning tickets with the help of a crowded room.
“Once again, the Shamrock Association has come together to provide attendees with an evening of entertainment while also raising funds for Dutchess outreach,” Ruffin said. “Our members take great pride in being able to help those in need. That’s why we partner with Duchess Outreach.”
Duchess Outreach Assistant Executive Director Tara Whalen was at the raffle with several family members. She said, “Attendance was spectacular and we thank the members of the Shamrock Society and their friends for helping us raise important funds. This is what Thanksgiving is all about.”
