Pecha Kucha celebrates 40 years, Post and Courier arts and entertainment reporter included | Charleston Scene

Pecha Kucha, a worldwide presentation format that requests speakers to talk on stage for six minutes and 40 seconds while 20 slides transition at 20-second intervals in the background, is celebrating its 40th rendition in Charleston.

Full disclosure: I will be a part of the presentation.

The local event was founded by Terry Fox, a creative and creative-adjacent presence in town who also hosts the Charleston Arts Festival. For this round, there will be eight speakers or groups of speakers featured who will speak about a topic of their selection while slides of their design play in the background.

Topics can span quite the range, but I’ll give a hint that mine is integrally tied to my role at The Post and Courier as an arts and entertainment reporter.
