Michigan’s Roman Wilson upset over ‘bulls—‘ overturned touchdown call vs TCU

A controversial call during Michigan’s loss to TCU in the college football playoff semifinals had wide receivers involved in the play even after the game was over.

In the second quarter, a pass from quarterback JJ McCarthy to wide receiver Roman Wilson appeared to give the Wolverines a touchdown into the bag. However, officials determined that the ball had not yet crossed the plane when Wilson was downed and ended up one yard short of the goal line.

Wilson seemed still heated about the no-touchdown call after the game.

“I caught the ball and was in the end zone,” he told the New York Post after the game.

Missed calls and missed opportunities seemed to be the theme of the game. TCU defender Keyon Stewart was also accused of evading a targeting penalty with a tackle on Michigan receiver Colston Loveland late in the game.
