all stars Aleksander Hetland opens up about the breakup

When Hetland won Skal vi danse in 2019, his marital status immediately became a hot topic. Many a heart was broken when it became clear that Hetland both had a girlfriend and was engaged to Kristina Eriksen.

The couple wanted to keep a low profile, and Hetland was notoriously sparing with comments about his love life.

Now that the former professional swimmer is in Skal vi danse: all stars, his love life has once again become a hot topic.

Talking about breakups

In this week’s episode of the TV 2 series Dansebobla, the swimming star opens up about the breakup.

Where he has previously been sparing with details about his private life, he admits that he has gone through a breakup.

Watch the clip below:

It happens because Hetland and dance partner Helene Spilling will this week dance to a song he describes as delicate and “with a lot of conflicting emotions”.

– It’s about a breakup or lost love, says a serious Aleksander Hetland in Dansebobla.

– There is probably a difference from the previous dances, where I have felt that I have stepped into a role. But now I can perhaps gain experience from my own life to a much greater extent. This is something that has happened to me several times, so I know exactly what it’s like and I probably take a lot from it.

A soft-spoken Hetland describes that he wants it to be right when a love break is the theme of Saturday’s dance.

– I am a bigger part of creating the choreography together with Helene now than before, because I want it to be right, and to reflect how I felt then, in such situations.

Hetland does not want to comment on his current civil status to TV 2.

Sold the apartment

Good evening Norway is aware that Hetland and Kristina Eriksen have sold the apartment they owned together in Fornebu.

According to public documents, this sale already took place at the beginning of June.

Hetland writes in an SMS to God kveld Norge that he does not want to comment on anything more than what comes out in the episode of Dansebobla. However, he is familiar with the content of this article.

Good evening Norway has repeatedly tried to get in touch with Eriksen, but without success.

Wrote dance history

Aleksander Hetland has an impressive sports career behind him, swimming at national and international level.

The Bærum swimmer won gold in the 50 meter breaststroke at the European Short Course Championships in 2009 and at the World Championships in 2012, and set a Norwegian record on both occasions.

The swimmer has since won the Champion of Champions, and people got to know Hetland again when he took part in Skal vi danse for the first time in 2019.

Back then, Hetland wrote himself into Skal vi danse history, when he fought his way to victory in a nerve-wracking season where, in particular, the competition between him and Jørgine “Funkygine” Vasstrand divided the nation in two.

In the end, the former EC and WC gold winner secured victory over Jørgine Massa Vasstrand, in a dramatic final moment few have seen the likes of.

However, the feat was not the only thing that stole the headlines in 2019, so did the marital status.

At the time, the very private WC medalist tried to shield his privacy as best he could.

After the victory, he still had to lift the veil and say that the couple was going to start wedding planning.

Since then, the dance star has consistently opted out of the limelight, and focused on his job in the advertising agency Nord DDB, where the former swimmer is also a partner.

Dansebobla is broadcast on TV 2 Play every Monday and Thursday. Shall we dance: all stars airs every Saturday on TV 2 and TV 2 Play at 19.30.
